Vagabond（ヴァギャボン；仏語）

　意味は「放浪者、さすらう人」。
　英語でも全く同じ綴りの単語で、意味も同じ。

　もともとの語源は、ラテン語「vagus」で意味は「さまよう／放浪」。

　ムーミンの友達であるスナフキンの紹介文は以下の通り。
　Snufkin is a gentle vagabond who plays his mouth organ and loves to fish. Moomintroll is his best friend and Little My is his stepsister. Snufkin wears a green hat and wanders the countryside wherever his fancy takes him.

　赤塚不二夫の漫画「天才バカボン」のタイトル名の語源でもある。
